INTERVIEW: Crowned For Business - The Ira Curry Interview On Building a Coaching Business Empire

Ira Curry, known as the King of Business, flashing a signature smile for the press

By Naomi Westbrook, Acting Press Secretary – Ira Curry Newsroom

Intro:

You’ve never seen anyone like Ira Curry. His path? One-of-a-kind—and that’s no accident. Ira didn’t follow trends. He created his own lane, blending business and entertainment into a whole new wave.

He’s not watching what everyone else is doing—because he is the founder of the business celebrity movement. Long before the world caught on, Ira was working behind the scenes, helping everyday people build coaching empires and step into their own spotlight.

Just last week, fans flooded his timeline after he dropped a post asking: “Is it true I’m the King of Business?” From fan contests to fan mail, the love hasn’t stopped pouring in. But don’t expect to find Ira chasing likes or follows. That’s not his lane. He built his own private social media platforms years ago—and that’s where his real fanbase lives.

Ira has always believed, “Everybody doesn’t need to know everything.” And honestly? That’s part of the magic. The less he shares, the more we want to know. Now, for the first time, Ira is stepping into the light to share more of his story—and his vision.

With hundreds of private fan groups quietly growing across Facebook alone, we sat down with the self-made business celebrity himself to talk about how he’s helping people go from everyday life to building thriving coaching businesses—and transforming into business celebrities.

Today, we bring you something rare. A one-on-one, never-before-seen written interview with business celebrity, chairman, and fan favorite: Ira Curry. This is for the dreamers. The go-getters. The ones who know they’re meant for more.

Whether you’ve never started a business, tried and failed, or feel like you’re ready for a fresh start—this conversation is for you. Ira gets real about his journey, the power of coaching, and why now is the time to bet on yourself and become your own boss—with purpose. Let’s get into it.

Exclusive Interview:

Iracurry.com: Hey Ira! Thanks for joining us. Let’s jump right in. There are so many people right now who are tired of working for someone else. They feel like they’re meant to do more, be more, and own their future. Why do you think now is the perfect time for someone to start their own business?

Ira Curry: Honestly, now is the best time because people are waking up. They’re realizing that life is too short to spend every day building someone else’s dream. The world has changed. We’re living in a time where you don’t need permission to start—you just need purpose. And if you’ve ever felt deep down that you were made for more… that’s your sign.

Iracurry.com: That’s powerful. Let’s break it down for those who are brand new to this—what exactly is coaching?

Ira Curry: Coaching is helping people reach their goals and overcome challenges by sharing your knowledge, experience, and guidance. It’s about listening, supporting, and showing someone how to win in life, business, or whatever area you’re passionate about. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be a step ahead of the person you’re helping.

Iracurry.com: And why is coaching the perfect business for someone who’s never started a business before—or for someone who’s looking for a fresh start?

Ira Curry: Great question. Coaching is low-cost, it’s flexible, and it’s built around you. You don’t need a fancy office or a bunch of employees. You just need your story, your voice, and a willingness to help people. If you’ve ever had people come to you for advice, or if you’ve overcome something hard, you already have what it takes to start. For people looking for a second chance, coaching is a beautiful way to start again—with purpose.

Iracurry.com: So let’s get personal—how did you get into coaching, and when did you know it was your time?

Ira Curry: I got into coaching after starting my first business in 2018. People saw what I built and started asking me for help. At first, I didn’t call it coaching—I just helped. But the more I did it, the more I realized this was my calling. I officially started my coaching business because I knew there were people out there who needed someone like me to help them win. I knew it was time when I couldn’t ignore the feeling anymore—that inner voice saying, “This is what you’re meant to do.”

Iracurry.com: So real. For those watching and wondering—how do you know if you’re called to be a coach?

Ira Curry: If you’ve been through something and you came out stronger… if people always come to you for advice or encouragement… if you’ve ever had a thought like, “I just want to help people,” that’s a calling. Coaching isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up and helping others because you care.

Iracurry.com: What would you say to the person who’s scared? Maybe they’ve never done anything like this before and they’re unsure about starting a coaching business.

Ira Curry: I’d say: Be scared… and do it anyway. Every coach I know felt that fear at first. But fear is just a sign that you’re doing something new—something big. Don’t wait until you feel “ready.” Start messy, start small, but start. You’ll learn as you go, and you’re not doing this alone. That’s what my team and I are here for.

Iracurry.com: And what about someone who has started a business before… but it didn’t work out. They’re scared to try again because they don’t want to fail twice.

Ira Curry: I hear you. I’ve failed before, too. But let me say this: You didn’t fail—you learned. Every business that doesn’t work out teaches you something for the one that will. Coaching gives you a fresh start, but with all the wisdom you’ve gained. Don’t let fear of failure block your blessing. This might be the very thing that finally works.

Iracurry.com: Last question before we wrap—why do fans call you the “King of Business”?

Ira Curry: Haha, I love that one. Fans gave me that name because I help people win in business and in life. I’ve built multiple businesses from the ground up, and now I’m showing others how to do it too. I don’t just teach business—I help people step into their purpose, become leaders, build a life they love and ultimately step into the spotlight as a celebrity coach. I believe everybody has greatness in them. My job is to help them bring it out.
